





A country adrift, living in continuous journey. An island floating like a raft on Arctic ice. Referencing Thomas More’s Utopia — radical change can only come from an isolated place.
The route follows the North coordinate 78°14’00.51”N at 360° East to West around the polar cap. Duration: one year with 12 stops. Seven character prototypes are judged not by one jurisdictional model but by several from different countries.
Labyrinth vs. Panopticon — confusion vs. control. The Panopticon center is empty; the rest is a deformed labyrinth. Everyone sees and is seen in this horizontal model. The prison model uses language and images as instruments. Re-education occurs through reflection, through the psychology of the cell’s spatial character.
Awareness and sensitization messages are delivered through enveloping tapes that compose the floater — a vessel that deprives freedom which its inhabitants have abused.
